In a year of landmark trade announcements, the unveiling of the Trade Logistics Information Pipeline (TLIP) initiative between the UK and Kenya
in July 2021 stood out as a progressive move towards more seamless digital management of trade information across borders.
TLIP involves implementing a ‘digital trade corridor’ between the UK and Kenya – the first such corridor established between the UK and a developing country.
It aims to eliminate paperwork and introduce better visibility in supply chains flowing between UK and Kenya, with potential savings for UK exporters estimated at £36m and for Kenyan exporters, up to £40m.
Now the partners involved in this agreement – the Institute of Export & International Trade (IOE&IT) and TradeMark East Africa (TMEA) – are taking this development one step further.
Focus groups
To understand more about the challenges and opportunities of digital solutions such as TLIP in facilitating trade between the UK, Kenya (as part of the UK-Kenya Economic Partnership Agreement) and East Africa as a whole, the IOE&IT and TMEA are organising online focus groups.
The first is on Wednesday 2 February and you are invited to attend.

What is TLIP?
Launched in July 2021 by the IOE&IT and TMEA, TLIP is a suite of solutions based on digital integration to support and facilitate the sourcing, buying, moving and clearing of goods traded between the UK and Kenya, as part of implementing the UK-Kenya Economic Partnership Agreement.
