The Institute of Export and International Trade yesterday inducted a new group of Ghanaian students on an online educational programme it is running with the UN and WTO-run International Trade Centre.
The scheme aims to bridge the global education divide between developed countries and developing nations such as Ghana.

The programme, which was launched in April, was developed using an adaptation of the Institute of Export’s Level 4 Diploma in International Trade, with content localised by the Ghana Export Promotion Authority.
The second cohort of 28 new learners were inducted on the programme yesterday.
The Institute will next week also induct a further 26 learners from Nigeria on the programme.

IOE&IT Academy director Kevin Shakespeare said the programme was an example of the Institute’s efforts to support intra-Africa and African trade with the rest of the world, “reinforcing the global nature of what we provide”.
“This is one of several exciting initiatives the Institute has developed internationally”, he said.
“Last week we also signed an MOU with TradeMark East Africa to creating a digital trade corridor between the UK and Kenya,” he added.
