A special broadcast will be held at 2pm BST on Wednesday 10 July to mark the launch of the Chartered Institute of Export & International Trade.
The currently-named Institute of Export & International Trade (IOE&IT) was recently granted a Royal Charter by His Majesty King Charles III and, to mark this new status, it will become the Chartered Institute next Wednesday.
Becoming Chartered was described as “one of the highest honours His Majesty can bestow on an organisation” by the charity’s director general Marco Forgione earlier this summer.
Empowering global trade
Leading figures from the Chartered Institute, including Forgione, will explain the significance of the change at the special broadcast on the charity’s website on Wednesday, including a talk-through of its new brand and identity.
He will also outline how the Chartered Institute will continue to evolve its services to further enable it to achieve its mission of ‘empowering global trade’.
Forgione will be joined by IOE&IT’s advisory services director Kevin Shakespeare, academic chair Professor Sangeeta Khorana, and customs and trade specialist Anna Doherty. The event will be hosted and facilitated by IOE&IT’s executive editor William Barns-Graham.
Marking a ‘significant moment’
Ahead of the event, Forgione said:

“Receiving the Royal Charter is a mark of the trust that’s been placed in us, our members and our wider community to empower global trade.
“This is a mission that’s always been at the heart of who we are, and we can’t wait to share the next evolution of this at the special broadcast on Wednesday.”
New subscription service
At the broadcast, the Chartered Institute will also share details about some of the new services it has been developing for both its members and the wider trade community.
This will include a new suite of advisory services, a new collection of ‘compliance toolkits’ for members and a new free subscription service through which the wider community can be kept up-to-date by the Chartered Institute on key news and developments in the industry.
