As part of our new relationship with Barclays, the Institute of Export is delighted to support the appropriately named Ignite Business Growth seminars which have taken place across ten UK locations – providing a potent mix of live and face-to-face and satellite events.
Keynote speaker and Innocent Drinks co-founder Adam Balon fired up the audience’s entrepreneurial zeal by relating how Innocent has harnessed – and sustained – the power of maintaining your vision to keep customers and boost sales.
Previously an employee of Virgin Drinks who spent time in Virgin’s Johannesburg office at a formative period following Nelson Mandela’s release, Adam reinforced the importance of businesses having a clear idea of what they are offering from the outset – and not diluting their offering. He related how Innocent’s mantra: ‘Keep the main thing the main thing’ has always served them well.
Attendees, comprising business owners and professional services representatives, gained a valuable insight into Innocent’s innovation trail – examples of which include it becoming the first business to produce juice and smoothies in clear bottles.
During the event guests also enjoyed sharing their top tips for increasing sales and getting on top of cash flow, as well as hearing from presenter Sue Hayes, Managing Director of business banking with Barclays who outlined the business support available.
Says Institute of Export Director General Lesley Batchelor who attended the Manchester event: “The importance of sharing experiences and best business practice through such events cannot be understated as the UK’s small and medium sized enterprises seek to grow and innovate via exporting and innovating to ensure a robust sales pipeline and healthy order books.
“The Institute plays a key role as a leading authority in best practice and competence for businesses trading globally, offering a unique range of individual and business membership benefits, and a world- renowned suite of qualifications and training.“
