Are you looking for the next step in your exporting career? If so, there is still time to register for our ground-breaking BSc (Hons) course in Management Practice – International Trade from Plymouth University, which launches in September or our existing MSc in International Trade, Strategy and Operations from Warwick University.
Applications for the BSc are now open through UCAS or through the Institute. The two year course is available to both IOE and non-IOE members, and is specifically aimed at those with prior workplace experience seeking to extend their existing knowledge and qualifications.
The BSc provides a unique combination of module study and a high level of work-based learning, with a strong focus on the need for frontline management skills. Course content includes structures, cultures, processes and procedures relating to international management, including the wider organisation environment in which they operate.
The full fee is £8,000 but IOE candidates receive a £1,000 discount, therefore the fee payable by the student is £7,000.
The launch of this online course means that students can now study with us from NVQ Level 1 through to the BSc and comes in what has been an unprecedented year of academic success for the Institute of Export and our students.
In addition to the unparalleled number of students who graduated this year from our Ofqual accredited courses, we have also experienced an outstanding 95% success rate in our long distance courses and witnessed a massive 42% increase in our student enrolments for the forthcoming year across our range of courses. They included our prestigious foundation degree, the diploma in international trade, our certificate for international trade advisors and the diploma in world customs compliance and regulations.
Our MSc in International Trade, Strategy and Operations has also enjoyed a very successful first year. Designed to appeal to participants looking to take on senior roles in internationally trading companies, the programme provides students with a comprehensive overview of how international companies operate – developing skills in areas including international sales and marketing, transport and logistics, financial management, legal aspects, business management and operations and service management.
With our annual survey revealing 73% of exporters are enjoying growth in international trade, it is more critical than ever that employees working within the sector are equipped with the right knowledge to do so.
We are proud of our range of qualifications, which are designed to fit around a full time career and include distance learning, webinars and online tutorials.
Our director general, Lesley Batchelor OBE, commented: “You only have to look at the Careers Section on our website and see the hundreds of jobs and opportunities in international trade to understand why our student numbers have risen as more people prepare themselves for the future of trading in the global marketplace. Our education team are committed to making you learning experience as useful and enjoyable as possible, while the wide range of courses meet the needs of learners from those who have no experience to those who wish to complete a BSc degree. Our enrolment figures also demonstrate that businesses understand and agree with the need for embedded professionalism in international trade.”
