Our Director General, Lesley Batchelor OBE, was the guest of honour at the recent opening of Contactum’s new headquarters in Croxley Green.
Contactum, based in Cricklewood, London, began in 1936 and is one of only a few remaining UK manufacturers of electrical wiring accessories and circuit protection products.
Lesley officiated at the opening ceremony of the company’s modern warehouse at Croxley Green Business Park and gave a warmly received speech which detailed current business confidence and growth, whilst also highlighting the funding constraints for SME’s and the continued need for the UK to grow its export trade.
Contactum’s new warehouse, which also incorporates its head office, provides the firm with enhanced logistics capacity and increased storage and office space. The new facilities also include a dynamic customer showroom and improved meeting facilities.
After a ribbon-cutting ceremony, Lesley, along with dignitaries including Richard Harrington MP, Ian Paterson and Bryan Treherne of UK Trade & Investment, Chairman of Three Rivers District Council – Cllr Chris Lloyd, and Head of Economic & Sustainable Development at Three Rivers District Council – Mr Renato Messere, toured the new showroom and heard a presentation from the Managing Director of Contactum, Mr Neil Clydesdale.
Commenting after the event, Lesley said: “It was a pleasure to attend the opening and support a firm which is committed to developing and manufacturing products in the UK, and has ambitious growth plans both here and abroad.”
Contactum’s Managing Director, Neil Clydesdale added: “The continued and increasing demand for our products has meant that we needed to increase our logistics capacity and bring together our workforce in a larger and more modern location. We are appreciative that Lesley and the other dignitaries were able to come and celebrate our much anticipated opening with us.”
