We are delighted that the keynote speech at this year’s IOE Graduation and Prize Ceremony will be delivered by award winning healthcare entrepreneur, Dr Ali Parsa, founder and CEO of Babylon health.
Dr Parsa, who has a background in both finance and healthcare that spans 20 years, will deliver a motivating presentation on the importance of having the necessary skills and knowledge to understand how to build an international business.
The event, which will take place at London’s historic Mansion House on May 18, will see students gather alongside leading figures from the world of business and international trade to celebrate their achievements.
Dr Parsa graduated from University College London with both a BSc in Civil and Environmental Engineering and a PhD in Engineering Physics, Dr Parsa’s talents were recognised early on in his career when he was presented with the Young Entrepreneur of the Year award by HRH Prince of Wales in 1993.
Following a very successful career in investment banking, working for major organisations such as Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch and Credit Suisse, Dr Pasha founded Circle in early 2004. The multi award winning organisation, which boasted £200m of annualised revenue, went on to become Europe’s largest partnership of clinicians.
He left after nine years at the helm to launch Babylon health in 2013, creating an integrated digital healthcare system which can be provided through any mobile device.
Appointed an Ambassador for Mutuals for the UK Cabinet Office – offering support to public sector workers who want to become independent social enterprises – Dr Parsa was also named by The Times as one of the 100 global people to watch – and one of the 50 most influential people in UK healthcare by the Health Service Journal.
Graduates attending the vibrant event come from a wide range of businesses including HSBC, Barclays, Mothercare International, Norsk European Wholesale Ltd, Dalebrook Supplies Ltd and Jaguar Landrover.
