The UK’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) is due to enter force on 1 January 2027 for aluminium, cement, fertiliser, hydrogen, iron and steel.
The government says that the new levy will “ensure that highly traded, carbon-intensive goods which are imported into the UK face a comparable carbon price to that paid by manufacturers producing the same goods in the UK”.
This free Global Trade Live webinar from the Chartered Institute of Export & International Trade will give an overview of why CBAM is being introduced, what affected businesses will be required to do from the start of 2027, and how they can prepare.
Agenda
- Setting the scene: Why the UK government is introducing CBAM
- Panel discussion: How will UK businesses be affected by CBAM
