Brand guidelines

The rules and requirements for using or referencing the Chartered Institute of Export & International Trade's logo or brand.

Where it has been agreed for you to use our logo on your website, social media or offline materials, please ensure the below brand guidelines are followed. 

Modification or use of the Chartered Institute of Export & International Trade logo that does not follow our brand guidelines is not permitted.

Logo application and colours

Primarily, the logo should be ‘Navy’ or ‘Black’ when used on white backgrounds and ‘White’ when placed on dark or photographic backgrounds. 

The logo should appear no smaller than 30mm/120px wide in print/digital applications respectively.

When positioning the logo on any application we ensure a MINIMUM border, equal to 25% height (H) of the ‘Coat of Arms’, to keep it clear of any text or graphic object

The secondary logo

The ‘Primary’ logo MUST be used whenever possible, but there will
be occasions where the ‘Secondary’ logo will need to be used due to
format restrictions.

The same ‘clearspace’ guidelines apply – equal to 25% height of the ‘coat of arms’.

The logo should appear no smaller than 50mm/190px wide in print/digital applications respectively.

We suggest the colour combinations shown when using the logo. ONLY use the ‘Black’ or ‘White’ version of the logo on a coloured background. 

 

DO NOT

  • DON’T distort the logo in any way

  • DON’T add any effects to the logo

  • DON’T re-colour the logo in any way or add gradients

  • DON’T place the logo onto a busy area of an image

  • DON’T set alternative text

  • DON’T use alternative colour pairings to those illustrated

Using the brand name

If you are using the Chartered Institute of Export & International Trade's brand name, you must only refer to us as the below:

  • Chartered Institute of Export & International Trade
  • Chartered Institute (*please continue to use this reference after using the full brand name first)

Any other shortened versions or acronyms are strictly not permitted.

External references

If you are using the logo or the Chartered Institute's brand name on your website, social media or online platforms, or are referencing information produced by the Chartered Institute, please ensure the below:

  • For any social media mentions, please tag our business profile where appropriate

  • For any blogs, articles or content pieces that reference the Chartered Institute and/or its research and discussions, please link back to the Chartered Institute of Export & International Trade (www.export.org.uk) with a DOFOLLOW link

  • You must not use any photos owned by the Chartered Institute of Export & International Trade for commercial gain without prior permission. If you are referencing an image of the Chartered Institute, please ensure that the author is credited
